The last time we saw Nicki Minaj on the red carpet for the ‘Barbie’ LA premiere, we were slightly confused by the lack of pink from the ‘Harajuku Barbie.’
However, it looks like the rapper made up for that moment by wearing this pink custom Dolce & Gabbana Chantilly lace, satin and tulle gown to the 2023 MTV VMAs on Tuesday (September 12), as she took to Instagram to caption her look, “DOLCE & GABARBIE.”
Channelling her inner Fairytale Bride Barbie, the veil is what sells the look to me the most, as this is the signature identity of Dolce & Gabbana’s DNA and imbues a sense of decadence that reflects D&G’s opulent style.
You may remember Mia Goth’s 2022 Toronto Film Festival Dolce & Gabbana look featured a veil, but Nicki’s doesn’t have the same widow vibes.
