Prince William, Prince of Wales and Catherine, Princess of Wales arrived at St Davids Cathedral to commemorate the life of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the first anniversary of her passing on Friday (September 8) in St Davids, Wales.
Time really does fly, because I can’t believe it’s already been a year since the Queen’s passing.
You can usually tell the current season by Catherine’s wardrobe, but considering the occasion she wore a deep burgundy Eponine London coat dress, which was not only a mourning colour, but it was also event appropriate.
You might look at Catherine’s accessories and assume that this was yet another matchy moment.
But there were some tributes that aren’t immediately apparent.
Catherine’s Sahar Millinery fascinator was designed by milliner Sahar Freemantle, who was a scholar with the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust, which supports the training and education of talented craftspeople.
And Catherine’s pearl earrings had originally been loaned to her by the late Queen Elizabeth.
If you’re having a case of déjà vu, it’s because Catherine wore this same coat to a Christmas Carol concert last year.
