Tyson Fury has said he would like to see Tommy face Jake Paul in a rematch before taking on the YouTuber-turned-boxer’s older brother Logan Paul.
Tommy and Jake went toe-to-toe on Sunday evening, with the former Love Island contestant winning the fight via split decision.
Tyson said his half-brother did a ‘fantastic job’ and praised the 23-year-old for ‘overcoming some difficult obstacles’ such as ‘falling over in round eight’.
The WBC heavyweight champion has said he would like to see Tommy face Jake again – claiming the YouTuber-turned-boxer was a ‘worthy opponent’.
Speaking after the fight, Tyson said: ‘Tommy will be headlining now forever. I’d like to see him fight a rematch with Jake Paul and fight Logan, his brother.’

The YouTuber-turned-boxer said he disagreed with the judges’ scores after the ‘close fight’
Tyson went on to speak about Tommy’s performance against the YouTuber-turned-boxer, claiming his half-brother did a ‘fantastic job’.
The WBC heavyweight champion said: ‘He [Tommy] did a fantastic job. The world media, the world’s biggest stars, came to see it. It was fantastic.
‘I expected Tommy to knock him out, to be quite honestly quite comfortably, but Jake was better than I thought he’d be, so fair play to Jake Paul. I’m very happy. You can’t get knockouts all the time.
‘I’m 33 and 0 with 22 knockouts. So, you don’t get a knockout every time, but it’s a learning experience. Jake Paul was a very worthy opponent and he had to come through some obstacles like falling over in round eight and getting up and fighting on.’
When asked whether he would be open to a rematch immediately after his victory, Tommy said: ‘100 per cent this is my first main event. I’m only going to stronger. I’m only going to bigger and better. There were a lot of nerves coming into it and I override that. If he wants a rematch, bring that.’
Paul was heavily booed by the crowd after he made several excuses for his loss to Fury – citing illness and an arm injury for his split-decision defeat
The victorious Tommy said he is willing to take on Paul once again in a rematch between them
Jake was furious after the result on Sunday evening and questioned how the judges had scored the contest.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer felt hard done by – with one judge scoring it 75-74 to Jake and the other two scoring it 76-73 to Fury.
Jake also claimed his performance in Saudi Arabia was flat because of issues he experienced in his training camp that he had not previously mentioned.
Speaking in the ring directly after the fight, Jake said: ‘All respect to Tommy, he won. Don’t judge me by my wins, judge me by my losses.
‘I’ll come back and I think we deserve the rematch. It was a great fight, a close fight. I don’t know if I agree with the judges.
‘I got a 10-8 round twice. It is what it is but I’ve already won in life. I’ve won in every single way, I have amazing family, amazing friends and an amazing work ethic.
‘Honestly, I felt flat. I got sick really bad twice in this camp, injured my arm, so it wasn’t my best performance,’ he said to boos from the crowd before immediately insisting he was beaten by the better man.
‘But I lost – I’m not making excuses. I’m just saying, it wasn’t my best performance, I felt a little flat and like I said, we’re going to come back and get that W.’
The 26-year-old finished by saying: ‘Don’t judge me by my wins, judge my by my losses – I’m going to come back stronger.’
The fans in Saudi Arabia were clearly unimpressed with James’ excuses and booed him while he gave his post-fight interview.
Jake then filmed a video from inside his locker room that he posted on social media promptly after his defeat.
‘Well, s***,’ he said laughing. ‘Didn’t think I’d ever have to make one of these videos! S*** happens, I guess.’
