Skip Bayless blames Logan Paul for Jake’s loss to Tommy Fury after mid-fight interview

American sports broadcaster Skip Bayless has laid the blame for Jake Paul’s defeat by Tommy Fury at the door of his older brother Logan, who called out the whole Fury family in a live stadium interview midway through the fight.

At the end of the third round, the older Logan was quizzed on how he saw the fight turning out in a live interview that would have been heard by both fighters and their camps.

He said: ‘Jake’s doing great, I think the first two rounds were close. He definitely got that last round. 

‘Tommy if you can hear me, you’re a ‘b**** bro and you gassing out. You a b****. The whole Fury family a b****’.

It hyped the crowd up but Bayless didn’t think it was the wisest move by Logan.

Taking to Twitter after the fight, once Fury had been confirmed as the winner on points, Bayless wrote: ‘I do believe Logan Paul helped cost his brother that fight with his between-rounds callout of Tommy Fury and his family. 

‘Called them all “b’s” on a mike the crowd – and Tommy – could hear. Bad idea. Logan trying to promote Logan – at his brother’s expense.’

As for the fight itself, Bayless added: ‘Jake Paul wants and deserves a rematch. He says he lost two rounds by 10-8 – which was hard to overcome. 

‘Fury won the punching stats. He’s skilled, strong, long, tough. Jake Paul proved a lot hanging with him. But a rematch will not be easy to win.’

Logan also called out Tyson Fury on Saturday on the eve of the fight, when he and his brother were standing in the ring as part of the final preparations.

Jake Paul was filming himself and Logan as they got to stand inside the ring, when Logan appeared to escalate the tension between the two families.

The clip starts with Jake saying: ‘Tomorrow I prove that the Pauls are greater than the Furys. The debate is over. Tune in, ladies and gentleman.’

Logan adds: ‘Then Tyson, round two I’m knocking your a** out’.

Logan has boxed himself, most notable in an exhibition against Floyd Mayweather but also against another YouTuber in KSI. Paul lost that fight, in 2019 in Los Angeles.

Tyson didn’t respond directly to any of Logan’s taunts, even though he was in Saudi Arabia in his brother Tommy’s corner for the fight. 

Tommy kept it respectful towards his beaten rival after the fight and said he would accept a rematch.

‘Jake Paul took some good shots – he’s a far better boxer than I thought he was,’ Fury said. ‘This is my first main event. If he wants a rematch, bring it on.

‘I fought Jake Paul and I come out and won. He was a lot tougher than I thought he was going to be – there’s no way people can’t say he’s a proper boxer. He was game, he kept coming.’
