The BCCI announced the IPL 2023 schedule on Friday, February 17, and the first match will take place on March 31 between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. IPL 2023 will have 12 venues where matches will be played. The tournament is coming back to Home and Away format after 3 years. Each of the 10 teams will play 7 home and away matches in the league this year. It is only fitting that last year’s champions Gujarat Titans meet four-time champions Chennai Super Kings at one of the world’s largest cricket stadiums in Ahmedabad.
MS Dhoni will play his last home match on May 16 in Chennai vs Kolkata Knight Riders. Dhoni’s CSK will play their second match against Lucknow Supergiants on April 3, which will also be their first home match. CSK will take on their long-time rivals Mumbai Indians on April 8 at the Wankhede Stadium. The return match will be played on May 6 in Chennai.
Five-time champions MI will play their first match vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 2. The other big clash will be between MS Dhoni’s CSK vs Virat Kohli’s RCB on April 17 in Bengaluru.
