Bartomeu denies having paid journalists

Josep Maria Bartomeu, former president of Barça, has presented a brief of allegations to reply to the new report by the Mossos d’Esquadra in which the existence of payments to journalists to defend him before public opinion and, at the same time, criticize other pre-candidates or figures was revealed of Barcelona. The former manager categorically denies having made this type of payment and maintains that this latest report by the Mossos before the Barcelona Investigating Court number 13 “tries to falsely conclude” that the money from the club, “under my presidency” was intended to “that companies pay certain journalists” with the aim of “protecting my reputation”.

Bartomeu maintains in his allegations that “both conclusions are not true but an erroneous and perverse interpretation of conversations between different people, journalists and executives”, which allow, as he has defended in his writing, “to extract subsequent assumptions and not facts”.

The former Barça president ends his defense by rejecting that “by my order or with my consent, journalists have been paid from Barcelona for the purpose, or in exchange, of defending management or my person.”
